This past summer, Bishpp Ireton sent 13 rising seniors to both Virginia Boys State and Virginia Girls State. The students learned the inner workings of the government and how to build it from the ground up.
The Bishop Ireton Cardinals won their first football game of the season 28-10 on Friday, August 31 against St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. The Cardinals held a 21-3 lead going into halftime, but stamped out a Bulldogs comeback in the second half to secure the victory.

We are excited to finally have broken ground and begun construction on our new Academic Center, which replaces the Oblate House demolished last summer to make way for this new project. The new wing will include an expanded cafeteria, a library/media center and learning commons, STEM labs, as well as additional classrooms and collaborative learning spaces. We are thrilled to see progress on this long-anticipated expansion and are eager to see all the positive changes this project will have on the future of Bishop Ireton.
Joanna Henry, who directs our Theater Program, traveled to NYC this summer for a three-day Broadway Teachers Workshop. The workshop aims to inspire teachers and directors in middle school, high school, and college theater with new teaching methods, enhanced production skills, and an exchange of ideas with peers and professional Broadway artists.
