Cardinals Fight Back But Fall to Washington-Lee

The Cardinals varsity hockey team fell in a close match to the Washington-Lee Generals last Friday night 4-3.

Coach DiCarlo’s squad out-shot their opponents, but quickly fell behind despite a goal from William Mueller. The BI faithful loudly cheered on their favorites, and two goals by Captain Alex Simuro leveled the game 3-3 mid-way through the third period. Unfortunately, the Generals responded a minute later with what proved to be the deciding goal. A tough loss, but the team’s effort and the raucous support of the student body prove that the Mount Vernon ReCenter is the place to be on Friday night. The next varsity game is at Prince William Ice Center on Friday, December 14 at 9:40 p.m. The annual Alumni game game will be at Mount Vernon on Friday, December 21 at 5:15 p.m.
